Who Are We?

In the near future our kids choir will be singing "WHO ARE WE" in the morning services. This is exciting BECAUSE (if everything goes as planned) our youth band will be playing for the choir. Next Sunday morning the choir will be rehearsing with the band!
This morning AGAIN I was touch by the kids choir. There was one girl (2nd grader), as we were practicing our song she was not just singing but she was truly telling Jesus how much she loves Him and worshipping Him. Her both hands were up towards the heaven. She was saying to God "here I am, pick me up, I want to be close to you". Hm...that reminds me of the story of Mary and Martha. Jesus said to Mary, ONLY ONE THING MATTERS. What was that one thing? Shouldn't we all try to do the one thing!? The one thing that matters is to spend time with Jesus and to be close to him. What better way to be close to our Heavenly Father than lifting our hand up and He sure will come and pick you up just as would any good father. Try it.
To listen to the song "Who Are We" just go to www.stanwichrocks.org and click on the choir page and then click on the box on top right that says "check this out"
If you need to be closer to God, it is up to you, you know how hard it is to hold a child on your lap if they don't want to be held, but when they run to you with their arms up reaching towards you, THEN you know that you are about to get the best hug ever. Jesus wants to give you a hug today. As you listen to this song, show God how much you love Him and how much you need Him in your life. I do need Him.

Re- Grouping

It has been exciting to get feedback from many of you in regards to our kids choir. I love singing myself, I love hearing my own kids sing, and I love hearing ANY child sing. There is nothing better than listening to kids voices.
"Joy Story" was very special. My heart overjoyed from seeing the children grow in their faith. The way those kids prayed was something I had never heard before. The way they chose the words and the way they cared about others and the way they knew what really was and is important. Our church has been blessed with many children who "GET IT". They get God and they have spirituality which I don't remember when I was their age. My prayer is that our children will be the one's who will fulfil the prophesy in Joel 2:28: "I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh, Your sons and daughter shall prophesy,..."
Anyway, back to the choir...I had a musical in mind and "am dieing" to do it, but I have to say that the thought of doing a full blown musical at this point doesn't resonate with-in me. So, we will start the kids choir rehearsals and at least for the first 4 weeks we will learn songs and sing them during the morning service. God can use the children in powerful ways. I pray that our children can bring us adults closer to God, and help us see what really matters in life. And may be our children's choir can just do that as they lead the congregation to the heart of God through music and worship.
May God Bless You
